SmartSnare Auto Cap System

Script-only trap: fits any seat furniture, auto-captures sitters

A drop-in auto-capture system that turns any furniture with a sit target into a smart trap: it scans for nearby avatars, force-sits the ones that qualify, and locks them down with configurable RLV restrictions until the timer lets them go. Script only; bring your own furniture.

Key Features
Capture Modes
Whitelist catches only the avatars you chose: perfect for private sessions. Blacklist catches everyone except the names you protect, so dominants stay free. All is open season for public traps and dungeons. Each list holds up to 10 avatars.
Manual Capture
Not feeling patient? Hit Capture, scan the room on demand, and pick exactly who gets dragged onto the seat: works no matter what mode you're in or whether auto-scan is even on.
RLV Restrictions
Eleven categories: sitting, touch, edit, teleport, chat, IM, inventory, names, location, fartouch, and camera down to mouselook. Toggle each one live, even mid-capture, or apply and clear every rule with a single button over the standard relay protocol, OpenCollar compatible.
Timer & Auto-Release
Hold them from one minute to two hours. A floating countdown hovers over the furniture for everyone to see; extend, pause, resume, or stop the clock anytime, and a warning before release gives the captive a heads-up.
Drop-In Compatibility
Works with any furniture that already has a sit target, no rebuilding required. Plays nicely with AVsitter builds and existing poses. Owner, trusted operators, or fully public: you decide who holds the controls.
Make It Yours
Full bilingual interface, English and 中文, switchable anytime from the menu. Every setting lives in the SmartSnare config notecard (scan range, timers, restrictions, access), all editable without touching a script. Optional broadcast notifications keep the room in the loop.

How it works

Getting Started

  1. Put it on the furniture: right-click the furniture → Attach, or rez it in-world with Modify/Copy permissions.
  2. Open the menu by touching the object (if touch is enabled), or by saying the menu command (default cap) on the configured chat channel.
  3. All settings load from the poi_Capture.Config notecard inside: edit it, then use Settings → Reload Cfg to apply changes. No scripting, no reset.

Works with any furniture that already has a sit target, including AVsitter builds; no rebuilding required.

Trap & Auto-Capture

Auto Capture

Turn on Auto Capture and it scans continuously, force-sitting the first qualifying avatar in range. Who qualifies depends on the capture mode:

Mode Behavior
Whitelist Only avatars in your whitelist get captured; everyone else is ignored
Blacklist Anyone gets captured except avatars on your blacklist (protects operators/dominants)
All Anyone in range gets captured, no list needed

Cycle modes with the Mode button in the Targets menu. Each list holds up to 10 avatars.

Manual Capture

The > Capture < button scans a 30m radius immediately and lists nearby avatars. Pick one to force-sit them right away: this works regardless of the current capture mode or whether auto-scanning is on.

Targets

Targets menu (Targets):

Button Action
View List List every whitelist/blacklist entry by name in local chat
Add Target Scan nearby avatars (30m) and pick one to add to the active list
Remove Remove the most recently added entry from the active list
Clear All Empty the active list
Mode: WHITELIST/BLACKLIST/ALL Cycle the capture mode

Adding/removing targets is disabled in All mode, since no list is used.

Access Control

Set in the poi_Capture.Config notecard: three levels:

  • Only Owner: only the furniture owner can open the menu
  • Owner + Operators: the owner plus up to 10 operator UUIDs you list
  • Public: anyone can open and use the menu

Whatever the mode, a captured avatar can always control their own RLV and Timer sub-menus.

RLV Restrictions

After capture, SmartSnare can apply up to eleven categories of RLV restriction over the standard relay protocol (OpenCollar compatible):

Category Effect
Sitting Locks the avatar to the seat
Fartouch Blocks touching distant objects
Edit Blocks editing objects
Teleport Blocks all teleporting
Touch Blocks touching anything
Inventory Hides the inventory window
Names Hides avatar names/tags
Chat Blocks sending/receiving chat
IM Blocks instant messages
Location Hides map and location info
Camera Restricts camera distance, down to forcing mouselook

Each restriction is a live toggle in the RLV menu (❌ = currently applied, ✅ = currently free). Use Apply Now to push every enabled restriction at once, or Clear All to remove everything without releasing the captive. Which restrictions auto-apply on capture is set per-category in the config notecard; menu toggles only change the live state of the current captive.

Requires a Restrained Love (RLV) viewer or relay to take effect.

Timer

  • Set auto-start in the config notecard so a timer starts on every script-initiated capture, or leave it off and use ▶ Start manually.
  • Duration: 1 minute to 2 hours.
  • Extend +1m / Extend +5m: add time to a running timer.
  • ⏸ Pause / ▶ Resume: freeze and resume the countdown.
  • ⏹ Stop: cancel the timer without releasing the captive.
  • A warning message is sent to the captive before release (lead time set in the notecard).
  • ▣/☐ Display: toggle a floating-text countdown above the furniture (yellow while running, orange while paused).

The timer always releases the captive when it reaches zero; this cannot be disabled. It also never auto-starts for a voluntary sit, only for a script-initiated capture.

Escape & Release

  • Release on the main menu clears all RLV restrictions and stands the captive up.
  • After any release (manual or timer), the avatar enters a 60-second cooldown during which they can't be re-captured, giving them time to walk away.

Settings

Settings menu (Settings):

Button Action
▣/☐ Notify Toggle broadcast notifications: capture/release/RLV events said to local chat instead of just the owner
Reload Cfg Re-read the poi_Capture.Config notecard without resetting anything

Scan radius and interval are displayed here but changed in the poi_Capture.Config notecard (radius up to 96m, interval 1–30s): edit the card and hit Reload Cfg to apply. Everything else (capture mode, lists, RLV auto-apply, access, menu command and channel, touch enabled, timer defaults) is configured in the same notecard.
