How do I reset a product safely?
Try reattaching first; use a built-in reset only when needed because it may clear saved settings.
Try the least disruptive steps first
- Detach the product.
- Wait a few seconds.
- Attach it again and allow it to finish starting.
- Test the original action once more.
If a full reset is needed
Use the product's own reset option when available, or unpack a clean current copy. A full reset may clear access lists, preferences, timers, or other saved state.
Do not manually reset individual scripts unless the product manual specifically instructs you to.
